Motivation

In the words of veterans Hip Hop legend Naz, “My life is like a movie, the good guy wins and the bad guy looses”

How to look for a good movie/story

Finding inspiration and motivation in a movie is easy. You know the deal, it’s an old age formula, think about it this way. Good parents tell their children inspirational motivational and uplifting stories. Planting seeds to shape the Childs mind and character. A good story informs, inspires and entertains. All good stories has a moral code or a lesson to take home, this assists in the child growth, and this is equally true for adults.

How to look for a good movie/story

  • Look for the moral code or life lesson’s
  • Inspirational, motivational and uplifting stories.
  • If it doesn’t help you on life’s path, it’s junk and it has no place in your head or under the sun!

Inspirational and motivational movie’s

Me personal, I’m a child of the 80s, It was a great time for inspirational / motivational movie’s and wonderful stories, Star War’s, Star Trek, The Never Ending Story, Superman etc. My parents shielded us form the horror movies such as Freddy, Jason, hell riser, Friday 13. My mother would say it serves us know use, inviting negative images into our mind, so our house was horror movie free.

So my first lessons was – Don’t polluting your mind with negative movies/stories

My father’s has always been a fun of Kong fu and action movies. I think these kind of movies fuel the one man can take on the world attitude. For me action movies are about…

  • Being bold
  • Working hard and smart
  • Listening to your inner voice
  • Working with/ finding a master or role model

Action movie’s – The one man take’s on the world theme

In the 80s action movie’s inspired the one man can change the world mentality. Maybe it was good old fashion American propaganda aimed at inspiring the gun hoe hero/ warrior in their troops. I’m a man of peace but I’m sure when it comes to actions movies, the story line give’s the troops a sense of divine purpose, a kind of holly mission.

On a positive note, I think inspiration can be taken form these movies and applied to the challenges of every day life.

What we can take from these movies is that self motivation come’s form within you, you have to dig deep, work hard , work smart, you have to be the kind of person who takes no shit and give’s no shit (please excuse my French). I WAS INSPIRED by RAMBO, COMMANDO, one man vs a thousand. This is a kind of metaphor for self determination.

Rocky Barbor – The king of inspiration and motivation

When it came to the rocky movies, I felt like I was in the ring, I was with rocky form the beginning to the end. A rookie fighter, undisciplined, no causes, no vision, unfocused. Sight given to him by the mentor. The vision of the mentor ignited young Rocky’s fire. The eye of the tiger was now open.

Walking in the hero shoes

We was with rocky though all his training, running though the streets’. We felt/lived his victory, when he won his first fight, We felt/lived his pain when he lost a fight. when he picked his self up and went back to training, We was inspired by his hope and determination. Through all of this the eye of the tiger was born in millions and millions more to come, this is the power of a good movie, to inform, inspire or uplift.

The key point to remember about these movies is that

  • What ever happens to you, keep on pushing on.
  • Be a hero
  • Be confident
  • When the odds are against you, That’s your opportunity to take centre stage and show the world, what you’re capable of.

The last dragon – There’s greatness within you

In this movie, our young hero Leroy searches for the “master” to obtain the final level of martial arts mastery known as The Glow? …Along the way he fights an evil martial arts expert. While getting his ass kick, the bad guy dunks our hero Leroy’s head in a barrel of water and say’s these unforgettable words “WHO’S THE MASTER”….

While under water…

Leroy has a flashback of all his experience’s, the words of his teacher and friends, people he’s met on his journey, this triggers a revelation in our hero Leroy… The bad guy again says “WHO’S THE MASTER ” as he attempts to strike our hero a deadly blow

Our hero Leroy – intercept the blow and grabs hold of the bad guy and say’s these words of conviction…

“I’M THE MASTER”

“At that moment the Hero’s body lights up – He get the glow and then kicks the bad guy’s ass

What did I learn?

  • That in our own right, we are masters and student’s
  • Just about every thing you need to be successful is in us now
  • Bigger then Hollywood

Hollywood movies were not the only place to find Inspiration, you can learn from cartoons. Do you remember Transformer the movie, when Optimus prime  he jumped out of the space shuttle to face the Decepticons and defend Autobot head quarter. His famous last words “untill all are one” He defeated megatron but lost his own life in the process.

Transformer’s a cartoon, but the message behind it was real. Life can be like war but we live for peace. Optmas prime defined what it means to be a leader by his…

  • Wisdom
  • Selfless sacrifice
  • Inner strength

Here’s something’s that I took home form our hero optimus prime…

  • Humility is a worthy virtue
  • Courage is a must!

Care for your inner world

First of all, in the bin with any form of entertainment that doe’s not inspire inform or uplift. It all boils down to Managing your mood’s and emotions. Stay clear of entertainment that are of a low vibrational quality. Programmes or movies that basically depress you or leave you feeling low and uninspired.

The Open source – you analogy

What is the open source you analogy? Think of it this way, your brain is like a peace of computer hardware and the mind is the open source software.

Open source is a programming term which refers to any program whose source code is made available for use or modification. The human mind is a bit like an open source programme. We are highly influenced by our environment.

In a nut shall, because the mind is like an open source programme the brain software can be influenced from the out side. This can work to our advantage when we exercise care and control over what people, media and place’s you choose to be influenced by.

Be inspired; be informed. Use the energy of the movies to fuel your inner drive and brighten your inner world.

I heard somewhere that, Life is a movie, you are the star, all you need to do is choose your role and be you. Feed your mind with positive thing’s that up lift, inform and inspire. The power of synergism will do the rest.

Here’s some fun inspirational movie music to get you dancing.

Lessons in success consciousness

Ok I’m a big kid, Back again with the latest lessons in success from the world of  Manga. In my opinion, after Dragon Ball Z  Naruto Shepelton is the most inspirational manga cartoon, Jam packed with life lessons.

Naruto Uzumaki always has his eyes on victory and success. For Naruto it’s about becoming powerful and wise enough to become Hokage (leader) to protect his village. No matter what it takes victory is the only truth, this is self determination. We can learn some valuable lessons in success consciousness from our young Ninja Naruto.

When you enter the school of life’s you are required to look to the top and grow from where you stand, you’re a success because you are here right now. You have grown and won many victories. Were you stop growing is up to you?

As a child Naruto looked up and said he will one day lead as Hokage. This was Naruto’s big vision, to protect and gain the respect of the people he loves. Every time Naruto is in a tough spot he looks back at all the battle’s his won and remembers that he always finds a way to win.

Key points:

  • What are you passionate about?
  • What do you love to do?
  • In your passion you can find great energy and drive?

One thing which you should remember is that you have won many battles through out your life; you are already a successful person.

When naruto comes up against an seemingly unbeatable challenges, he always reflects back to his previous victory’s as a source of power. Doing this he sees that it’s not the first time he’s come against a tough challenge and even though the situation is tough, with hard work and focus his Conquered them one by one.

Key points:

  • Counts your victory‘s. You’ve won many battles, List your victory’s, major and minor.
  • Use your past success to fuels further success

Naruto failed at every attempt to pull off the most simple ninja skills, such as the shadow clone technique, but he never gives up trying to learn this simple technique. In time he did learn how to pull off the shadow clone technique and this became one of his most power weapons the multi shadow clone technique.

What can we learn from this?

  • Well in trying to shoot for the moon you may just hit a star
  • With focus and determinations you can turn your weakness into strength

When Naruto says or sets out to accomplish a task, that’s it – it is as good as done, naruto sticks to his word. Naruto lives by what he calls his nindo, his ninja way. Naruto’s nindo is his code” I never give up, I never go back on my word.

Naruto’s nindo or code gives naruto no way out. Because he is committed Naruto believes he has to find a way, what ever it takes and stay true to his word. Naruto commitment to his code gives Naruto the power and creativity to overcome obstacles.

What can you take form this?

  •    Let your word become manifested.  Honour your word, when you say your going to do something do it.

The rasengan a technique handed down from master to master. When naruto was introduced to this technique he was told that it was technique that has only been mastered by a few masters. Naruto thought to his self, how can he accomplish what only a small number of people have done, this is impossible he thought to himself, then naruto reflected back to his goal to became the leader of the village. In learning the rasengan, he saw his self walking in the foot step’s of the greats. It became a metaphor for his goals to become a Leader.

When working out use your exercise as a metaphor or affirmation. This helps to build the motivation to deal with life’s challenges with a smile (see 50 on the clip)

See yourself  the boss. Naruto is respectful to all people who he meets, but Naruto is his own boss. People respect naruto because he shows respect and honour to all, even people who seem like they are against him. When Naruto had a battle with gura, the sand ninja, Naruto looked past the evil in his enemy eye’s to the see the truth of the situation. Naruto’s so called enemy was actually a victim, they fought but Naruto showed compassion for his enemy and made him a allies and a friend.

What can we take home ?

  • Make more friends then enemy’s
  • Your enemy may turn out to be a misunderstood friend

“When people are protecting something truly special to them, they truly can become…as strong as they can be.”
— Naruto

A Ninja’s job is to see his/her mission through to the end.
