Chakras! What the hell do Chakras have to do with personal development, how is sitting in meditation visualising spinning vortex’s of light or energy going to make a difference in your life, isn’t that meditation visualising stuff meant for those gurus who perch on hill tops seeking enlightenment, what relevance do chakras have in today modern world? Ok for now forget about gurus and hill tops and let’s look at the ancient science of the chakras and what is known as human’s psycho consciousness and how you can benefit from a bit of old fashioned wisdom.

Ancient problem modern answer

Well for anyone who is familiar with NLP or the Nero science’s will already know that aspects of our physic or physiology can be influenced to our advantage, to aid us in establishing new behaviours and characteristics in our personality. NLP is an excellent tool and the model works well; the developers have delivered us a model for an ancient problem, namely how to establish new behavioural patterns. This is not the first model for human behavioural change and development. Ever sense man/women have walked the earth we have been seeking greater control and influence over our own psychology and behaviour.

Ancient model of Personal development

Many thousands off years ago the ancients devised a model for personal and spiritual development at the most basic level this system chakra model consists of seven centers which corresponds to different levels of psycho consciousness, which we experience as our awareness and expressions.

The yogic chakra system was actually the first personal /spiritual developmental system I came across and it is one that I am finding ever greater success with. The chakra system may be one the oldest but it is not out dated. When understood you will have a portable system for personal and spiritual development at your finger tips.

Each centers represents a level of psycho spiritual conscious/ awareness. At each centers has it’s dominate expressions and reflects it self in your character and state of consciousness and awareness.
As the electrical and magnetic forces flow though your biologic system in what is known as the micro cosmic obit, the energies flow though the chakras and around the bodies. When their’s a blockage the energy flow is restricted at the point of the blockage which has an effect on one’s health and consciousness.

Biological energy flows through our bodies this bio energy travels from what is commonly known as the root chakra to crown chakra in a cycle motion, as this energy travels it nourishes our bodies and ensures health. As we grow and mature our level of psycho awareness and consciousness expands as energy flows through each centre effecting our behaviour and expression.

When energy is flowing freely through mental and physical body we experience mental and physical health, however a blockage will result in poor mental and physical health.

How to use the chakras for personal development

Let me introduce you to the modern interpretation of the chakra systems, I will give you a basic over view of the system looking at the dominate qualities of each chakra which give a Practical guide to personal development. Each centers corresponds to a level of awareness.

Basic meditation There are thousands of chakra meditations, below are three meditations relevant to personal development and awareness

  1. 1.You can meditate on the position of each chakra
  2. 2.You meditate on the colour of each chakra
  3. 3.You can Meditate on the core Principles of each chakra

review your day looking out for violations or contradictions  to the core positive principles of the chakra. If you find a violation visualise your self acting in harmony with core principle of the chakra.

Sahasrara - The Crown Chakra

Here you will find the pituitary gland which’s secretes hormones to communicate to the rest of the endocrine system and also connects to the central nervous system via the Hypothalamus. Symbolized by a lotus with one thousand petals, it is located at the crown of the head. Sahasrara is represented by the colour violet and it involves such issues as inner wisdom, awareness, intelligence over standing and unity. Sahasrara’s inner aspect deals with the release of karma, physical action with meditation.

Meditative tips

This center is the home of genius and higher dimensions and vibrations of thought. All the knowledge and wisdom you need is available to you at this center. At the crown center you must know that all you have ever seen heard or experience is in you and can benefit you at any time. Unlock your own inner genius allow your past learning experiences, knowledge to be unified into your ideal expression for living .know that imagination is more important then knowledge because imagination stimulates evolution . Know that any thing the mind can conceive the mind can achieve.

AjnaThe Brow Chakra third eye

The Ajna or third eye is linked to the pineal gland. The pineal gland is a light sensitive gland that produces the hormone melatonin which regulates sleep and awakening. Ajna or third eye is the true home of wisdom and mental order. Symbolised by a lotus with two petals, and corresponds to the colour white, indigo or deep blue. Ajna in personal development involve balancing the higher & lower aspects of the psyche. The third eye is the home of visualisation and the gateway to higher mental abilities, intuition, imagination can all be found here. The eye is very important because it is a doorway to other than conscious mind or subconscious mind, meditation on this chakra develops clearity of mind, forcus and concentration.

Meditative tip

When using visualisation the third eye gives you the opportunity to influence your mind using images. The brow chakra is like your portable media player. Imagine your minds eye like a movie screen, see yourself responding to life in your ideal way, visualise the completion of your goals.

Vishuddha The Throat Chakra

The the throat Chakra relates to communication and growth through expression. This chakra is paralleled to by the thyroid, a gland that is also in the throat and which produces thyroid hormone, responsible for growth and maturation. Symbolised by a lotus with sixteen petals. Vishudda is characterized by the colour light or pale blue, or turquoise. It governs such issues as self-expression and communication.

Physically, Vishuddha governs communication, emotionally it governs independence, mentally it governs fluent thought, and spiritually it governs a sense of security. Vishuddha or Throat Chakra is a major power house, your words can build or destroy your own and other lives, be responsible and conscious of your language. Listen to your words and be congruent with your higher knowledge and belief.

Meditative tips

This chakra is a door to the subconscious which means you can use it to guide and influence the mind and implant commands in your subconscious using vibrations. Use
Auto suggestion/affirmations to implant positive impressions into the mind. 101 affirmations
Key times of receptiveness or first thing in the rising and before bed. Be sure that your words are positive and in line with your beliefs and actions.

Anahata - The Heart Chakra

The Heart Chakra is related to the Thymus, located in the chest. The thymus is an element of the immune system as well as being part of the endocrine system. Anahata is symbolised by a lotus flower with twelve petals. Anahata is related to the colours green or pink. Key issues involving Anahata involve complex emotions, compassion, tenderness, unconditional love, equilibrium, well being. Physically Anahata governs circulation, emotionally it governs unconditional love for the self and others, mentally it governs passion, and spiritually it governs devotion.

Visualise yourself having prefect harmony with all people your come across. , see yourself building a natural rapport with people using the heart

Manipura - The Solar Plexus Chakra

The Solar Plexus Chakra is related to the metabolic and digestive systems. Manipura is believed to correspond to adrenal glands and the adrenal cortex. These play a valuable role in digestion, the conversion of food matter into energy for the body. Symbolised by a lotus with ten petals. The colour that corresponds to Manipura is yellow. Key issues governed by Manipura are issues of personal power, fear, anxiety, opinion-formation, introversion, and transition from simple or base emotions to complex. Physically, Manipura governs digestion, metaphysically it governs personal power, emotionally it governs the digestion of emotions, and spiritually all matters of growth.

Meditative tips

To increase will power meditate on the solar plexus
Will power – use belly breathing reconnect the will with the bodies- see yourself achieving your goals with the power of your will, see yourself as unstoppable. The solar plexus is like a furnace that powers your whole system. Svadisthana – The Sacral Chakra

Svadisthana the Sacral Chakra

Sacral Chakra  is located in the sacrum (hence the name) and is considered to correspond to the testes or the ovaries that produce the various sex hormones involved in the reproductive cycle. Svadisthana is also considered to be related to, more generally, the genitourinary system and the adrenals. The Sacral Chakra is symbolized by a lotus with six petals, and corresponds to the colour orange. The key issues involving Svadisthana are relationships, violence, addictions, basic emotional needs, and pleasure. Physically, Svadisthana governs reproduction, mentally it governs creativity, emotionally it governs joy, and spiritually it governs enthusiasm.

Muladhara - The Root Chakra

The root chakra is related to instinct, security, survival and also to basic human potentiality. This centre is located in the region between the genitals and the anus. Although no endocrine organ is placed here, it is said to relate to the gonads and the adrenal medulla, responsible for the fight and flight response when survival is under threat. There is a muscle located in this region that controls ejaculation in the sexual act of the human male. Muladhara is symbolized by a lotus with four petals and the colour red. Key issues involve sexuality, lust and obsession. Physically, Muladhara governs sexuality, mentally it governs stability, emotionally it governs sensuality, and spiritually it governs a sense of security.

Imagine – see yourself abundant in are that you require, have total belief that all that you need is provided for with you.

I’ve written a step by step guide of how to keep your frown intact and your smile held back.

1. Turn on your TV for a daily dose of mood control

Uno – Find a really good news channel, one that does an excellent job of only reporting a daily dosage of murder death kill news and disaster stories. Consciously keep in mind that nothing good happens on this little planet, We call our home, floating alone in this cold dark empty universe!

Now that you’ve found your news channel watch it at least twice a day before bed and in the morning.

2. Keep away from Kids

If a baby or small child smiles at you, Don’t return the smile, look away as fast as humanly possible – a child’s smile can be extremely infectious it may ruin many hours of moody conditioning.

3. Be a human garbage bin with Broken wheels

Eat as much fast food as you can… and 4. move as little as possible.

5. No deep breaths -

Don’t forget to keep your breathing shallow, hold your breath when ever possible, maintaining a steady tension in your neck and shoulder.

Be a moron

Spend more money then what you earn, credit cards will help you do that. If you’ve not got one, waste no time and get one with the high interest, Don’t read the terms and conditions, in time these steps will set you up for a nice surprise.

7. Keep gray sky’s in your heart and mind what ever the weather

Let the weather dictate your mood and don’t forget to complain, what ever the weather.

8. Keep negative associations

Positive associations ruin bad habbits, stay away from people who may try to clean up your sinking thinking, good friends are so interfering. Only associate with people who are going to feed and maintain your bad habbits

The above is just sooo crucial don’t talk to positive or cheerful people they may brighten up your day.

10. Remove as much color from your life as you can.

Wear old dark or faded clothes not classic just old and torn. Painting your walls black, really helps to bring your mood down.

11 . Keep your home a Flower and Plants free zoneDon’t keep house flowers and plant, unless their dried and wilted or at the very most plastic replicas, try the old damaged kind.

If it ain’t knocking, don’t let it in. Lock the sun out of your life. Keep windows and curtains closed, over exposure to sun light can trigger the release of mood altering hormones.

12. Be sure to say your UN-inspirational affirmations –

i’m so stupid, i’m a idiot. i’m just no going at anything, this is the way i am, i’m always making mistake, I can’t, I can’t, I can’t etc.

13. Be overly negatively critical

Criticize all people and things. Don’t discriminate if it walks talks take the opportunity to critisize it and have a moan, if it sits in your field of vision have a moan.

14. Close your mind to the unknown …

Never trust your intuition only accept what you can see and touch have faith that the 3 percent your brain that you do use is capable of perceiving what the other 97 percent of your brain can perceive… that’s enough science babble… We don’t want to even venture in the realm of the other 97% of you brains potential.

Believing in any kind of super natural all in composing force which holds the muiltverse in balance.

15. Fill your mind with crap

Watch a decent horror movie before you go to Bed- comedies and love stories movies should be strictly off your viewing list.

16. Cultivate bad vibes -

To secure a restless night and a shitty morning, Pick an argument with your partner before bed, if you’re single just shout at yourself in a mirror, preferably one that is broken so you can get a nice distorted veiw of your self, this will help you get up on the wrong side of the bed!

Sleep in the clothes you’ve been wearing all week. do this until you can’t stand your own stench… What ever you do don’t change your bed sheets.

Bath once a month, if you can try holding out for a bit longer, as long as you can tolerate your self.

17. Believe that their no good in the world

Believe the world is going to end any moment, no matter what good you see.

18. Have a close network of overly negative friends to bring you down

whenever your spirits are two high. Good friends are friends who support and reinforce your negativism

Get as little sleep as possible

Lay in bed all day watching TV. It’s Great for subduing your energy levels and numbing your mind.

If you want to be happy do the exact opposite of what you just read SMILE – either way being happy or sad is something that is cultivated! – All things take an investment of energy, be happy, Be good to yourself.
