Before we go their, let me just say that Desk work, Requires body work!<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Your body deserve the proper training.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Recently I learnt the hard way that working at the desk, should be classified as athletic sport why? well because its hard work, Its both mentally and physically demanding.  <strong>Heres the\u00a0story&#8230;<\/strong> For the last month or so, \u00a0I&#8217;ve\u00a0not exercised at my normal intensity, in fact I\u2019ve been a bit of a bum in that area  &#8211; Anyway\u00a0I&#8217;ve\u00a0notice an dramatic affect on my energy both mentally and physically, and a lowering of productivity and endurance.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #008000;\">If you wan\u2019t to stay in the game\u00a0you&#8217;ve\u00a0got to be able to take the strain.<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>I\u2019ve normally got tones of energy and endurance behind the desk, but without exercise my desk chair seems to be acting like a black hole, its gravity seems to be socking the life out of my butt&#8230; It\u2019s so sore! This experience has exposed just how demanding desk work actual is.  <strong>Sitting at the desk for hours on end is tough!<\/strong> &#8211; I take my hat of to those who don\u2019t work out. You guys have got some Mighty powers of endurance. but apart from Having endurance, I think you should workout&#8230;\u00a0Heres whys  5,6,7,8 HOURS \u00a0PLUS working at your desk, Day after day, Year after year <strong>can really really mess with your swagger! &#8211;<\/strong> You don\u2019t want to end up look like a desk demon, all ridged and hunched over, With veins popping out of the side of your head &#8211; Or a desk goblin, with you\u2019re belly balanced on the edge of your desk and you bum hanging over the side of your chair.  All in all, if your working long hours behind the desk, YOUR AN ATHLETE, so see your self\u2019s as one. Most people have not got the mental, physical strength and endurance to sit in a chair long enough to even begin to compete in the desk games, Trust me you\u2019re an athlete. I\u2019ve not workout for a month and my bony ass is under extreme pleasure, I don\u2019t know how much more my body or mind can take, I\u2019ve been failing asleep and everything, I need to get working out again.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"color: #808080;\"><strong>Here&#8217;s a definition an athlete from the free dictionary.com <\/strong><\/span> A person possessing the natural or acquired traits, such as<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> strength<\/span>, agility, and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">endurance,<\/span> which are necessary for <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">physical exercise <\/span>or sports, especially those performed in<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> competitive <\/span>context.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>I would say that the physical act of passively sitting at a desk \u00a0for a long period\u00a0of time is a <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>physical exercise<\/strong><\/span>, and it takes\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><strong>strength<\/strong><\/span> and<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> <strong>endurance<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Negative effects of long hour at the desk, <\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>The longer you work at your desk the lower your energy levels fall<\/li>\n<li>The lower your energy, the more sluggish your mind<\/li>\n<li>The more sluggish your mind the weaker your drive<\/li>\n<li>The weaker your drive the lower your productivity<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>As you can see from the above your productivity demands mental stamina (concentration)   and strong body. <strong>Particularly a strong bum, strong back, neck<\/strong> and an over all strong posture to keep you in the game. \u00a0I nominate desk work to be the new Olympic event, why because we are in <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">competition <\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\">Five basic requirements of a desk Olympian<\/span><\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>How to boost your Productivity and<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> competitive advantage<\/span> in Desk Olympics\u2018<\/p>\n<ul><strong>1.<\/strong> The desk Olympian keeps fit<\/ul>\n<ul><strong>2.<\/strong> The desk Olympian develops world class concentration; concentration is the driving force of his thoughts productivity and creative power.<\/ul>\n<ul><strong>3.<\/strong> The desk Olympian has a strong body; it helps him sit for longer<\/ul>\n<ul><strong>4.<\/strong> The desk Olympian understands the power of stretching. He knows his muscle most remain relaxed for proper blood circulation.<\/ul>\n<ul><strong>5.<\/strong> The desk Olympian understands their&#8217;s energy in breath, his productivity is improved by proper breathing and posture, this ensures his brain and body is well oxygenated.<\/ul>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #008000;\">How do to get the edge <\/span><\/h2>\n<p>So how do you get the edge? &#8211; \u00a0<em>Answers, <\/em>It<em> <\/em>Simple power up<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Get training before you sit behind the desk<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>No Olympian in their right mind would enter the Olympic Games without training, unless they were blessed with mighty powers given from Zeus. The brain works far better when it is accompanied by an energised body<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080;\"> Aim to be at your personal best<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Only you know when your doing all you can do to maximise your performance and productivity. You\u2019re an athlete aim for your personal best.<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080;\">The competition sets the standard<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Working out is the less\u00a0\u00a0the Desk \u00a0Olympian can do to get the upper hand. stacked against massive competition the desk Olympian has be comfortable in a chair, because sitting at your desks for hours on end can be physically challenging to say the least, there\u2019s been studies stating that sitting too long can really hurt your health, \u00a0I guest\u00a0\u00a0all sports have their dangers and challenges.  <em>Not every difficult or dangerous thing is suitable for training, but only that which is conducive to success in achieving the object of our effort.<\/em> Epictetus<\/p>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #800080;\">Know your competition and let them inspire you<\/span><\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>The Olympian knows their in competition<\/strong> with others, whether there competition is in the next office or at the next IP address, he also understands that the competition sets the benchmark. He see them as the Olympic greats, his competition sets the standard.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The desk Olympian knows the competition may be more technical<\/strong> have more knowledge then him have bigger networks then him, so desk Olympics demands the full creative power of his brain in order to compete with the giants.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The competition does not faze the desk olympian<\/strong>, it only inspires him to be the best Olympian he can be.
