Moving beyond motivation to peak performance
Its a wonderful feeling being inspired and motivated, being pumped up with seemingly unstoppable personal power, but of course this boost of motivational energy is short lived, eventually you will have a come down . At the point of come down you have to find another source of motivation, for many people its the next instalment of motivational books, cds or audio programs, which is good because can you gain new insights,  building on that initial injection of motivational energy you had the first time around and the progress you made.  Be sure to take note of the lessons learned during your personal development experience, building on the progress you made when you were pumped up full of personal power. For your own sake you need to learn the process of self motivation.  Keep a Diary/Journal
Learning from the process
Ok you’ve been pumped up, your feeling unstoppable, highly inspired and you have tones of energy  to get the job done, to sum up the experience
You feel clear about your purpose
Your sense of inspiration has ignited your will power…This is a peak performance experience and as a student of life its your job to study and perfect the process for your own good… This is personal development
Daily application
When exercised the philosophy of personal development  becomes a philosophy of peak performance that will benefit all areas of your life.
Keeping you mentally fit and physically energized.
Minimizing the need for external motivation. Living by a peak performance philosophy, centers around maximizing your basic abilities and strengths i.e. your physical, mental,  skills, health and vitality…
The forward motion of growth
As you to develop your physical and mental abilities/strengths, you should seek to expand your circle of influence and application of your skills…    applying your new level of ability  to learning new skills that will benefits the areas of  your current interest or aiding you in a goal… you can apply this philosophy to all areas of life,   in this way you can maintain a constant forward motion of growth. An example of this process from my own life, would be learning how to read and write compatently at a late age, then applying my new found ability to writing and scholartry interests. My scholarltry interests evolved into writing poetry, song writing and blogging, I used the same philosophy in the area of health, first doing general fitness exercise like pushing ups, running , martarial arts and bit of weight lifting, then advanced yoga, qi gong onwards to parkour (freerunning).  I still do yoga and qi gong and a bit off mataral arts but pakour allows me to build on the physical benefits of my past activates.
So how does physical fitness benefit you mentally.
How does it aid peak performance
Without getting overly technical exercise Increases blood flow to the brain. The brain requires rich amounts of oxygen and glucose to fuel the organ and maintain proper peak functionality. Of course better functionality leads to increased productivaty, memory,  increased learning potential and improved moods and will power.  Physical fitness and mental health are connected by  exercise, namely the way neurotransmitters link the body and the brain. Studies done measuring the effect of exercise on neurotransmitters revealed that  exercise increases endorphins which make you feel good as well as increasing acetylcholine levels, which supports memory and mental processing and muscle movement.
So basically you start with exercising mind and body (use mind games ),  developing and transferring the benefits of your work to other areas (this will happen directly or indirectly).  You can gain more by consciously directing the process with hobby’s and activaties.
In order for you to live a life of personal peak performance you must invest in the foundations of your health which is of course your mental and physical body.
The equation is very simple strong body, strong mind
Strong mind, strong body
Strong body, strong mind
Strong body, strong will
Strong mind, strong will
Strong will, strong drive
The stronger the will, the stronger the drive i.e the more internal motivation you have.
The more internal motivation you have is the more persistence you’ll be in pursuit of you goals dreams aspirations etc.
The more persistence you are is the more you’re likely to over come obsticals successful especially when you are in the fog of the process.
Back to basics
The truth of peek performance is really about excising the will
Becoming more flexible and dynamic
Unlocking your creativaty and resilience
Learning how to learn and transferring that learning experience to new situations
A small investment in to the development of mental and physical strength has a knock on effect across every area of life… if you apply the philosophy
